No time to make it to the gym? On vacation? Or just need a high-intensity finisher for your next workout? Look no further than the 10-Minute Burpee Challenge.
The challenge is simple: Perform 10 burpees every minute on the minute (EMOM) for 10 minutes straight.
If you're in relatively good shape, the first 5 sets or so should be pretty easy, and you can probably do all 10 burpees in 40 seconds or less. But as time wears on, you'll be gasping for air and drenched in sweat. Remember, the faster you complete the 10 burpees, the longer you can rest between sets.
This workout is as hard as you make it. Challenge yourself to perform strict burpees for the entire 10 minutes. That means a full push-up and a full jump on every rep.
Here are a few ways to make this challenge even more difficult:
- Do 11 (or 12) burpees EMOM.
- Jump laterally over an object (barbell, towel, water bottle, etc.) every rep.
- Do 2 push-ups every rep.
"No time" is no excuse. No matter what your schedule, you can spare 10 minutes to do something active. Give this a try and let me know how it goes!
